Abstract(in English) | In the area of neuropsychology, apraxia has been classified by the 'classical' theory; ideational, ideomotor, and limb-kinetic. But there are patients who exhibit inexplicable pattern of disability. We examined a patient, who showed slowly progressive apraxia, by a test which was designed from several perspectives of classifications of action. His disability was characterized by the difficulty for pantomime expression. This was not well explained by the classical theory, therefore we proposed a new theoretical model for action; it consisted of two systems: praxis conceptual and praxis execution. Additionally, we hypothesized the existence of body-centered/object-centered memory for action method. By this new model, we could appropriately explain his apraxic disturbance. |
