Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We analyze and discuss the "feeling of mismatch" often reported to occur during video-mediated conversations. The mismatch feeling occurs typically at the time of "aiduchi", and our experiments reveal that aiduchis in video-mediated conversations begin 100 milliseconds earlier than those in face-to-face conversations. This gap is on a microscopic time-scale beyond human conscious controls. We claim that the mismatch feeling at the times of aiduchi is caused by the uncouscious processes of interactional micro-regulations that Condon(1980) called "interactional synchrony".
