Abstract(in English) | This paper presents a method for recognizing human state in difficulty based on the detection of basic actions by obtaining positions and an angle of pupils in the image sequence. First, We investigated the human actions of difficulty revealed in the operation of word processing. Then, based on these sets of results, the image processing system are constructed. In the system, polarized near-infrared illumination is used to detect pupils easily, and the processing speed is enhanced by reducing image data. The actions are converted to the series of vectors which has the moving speed of head as the elements. Actions are recognized by comparing standard patterns of vector sequences using DP matching. The method can be applied to develop the software which automatically responses when the operator falls in difficulty. |
