Abstract(in English) The modality of signed language is different from that of spoken language, that is, signed language is gestural/visual one. A signed language uses both manual and non manual signals in production. In this report, we will show some results of preliminary study on the computer based learning aid for hearing people those who learn signed language, specifically, non manual behavior in Japanese sign language. A computer controlled videodisc system displays sign motion pictures that contain typical features in adverbial use of both manual and non manual behaviors.
