Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Many people say that we live in an "information-intensive society". Normal hearing people can make full of information in every occasion, but deaf and heard hearing people are not able to make the most of information in certain situation. One of the ways to solve this problem is to increase the opportunity to get information in signed language, because it is the most appropriate means for them. In this study, we have built a computer controlled sign dictionary as an assistive device for the deaf to get information at workplace. The system supports introductory education for them to work at the workplace. The system contains certain technical terms together with Japanese sign language exposition and Japanese one.
