Stationary Valve-Regulated Lead-Acid Batteries for Electric Energy Storage

Abstract(in English) Stationary valve-regulated lead-acid (VRLA) battery for electric energy storage to accumulate night surplus electric power and it during the daytime peak hours has been developed. The cycle life of this new developed battery is much improved by the adoption of the specifications as follows, positive plates with grid alloy of corrosion resistance and high density active material, negative plates using new additive which improves charging performance, horizontal plate group design, adoption of new AGM separator, optimization of the charging method and others. This developed battery has excellent characteristic on cycle life performance of 2000 cycles and more and charge-discharge efficiency of 87%. We developed 100/400kW system for electric energy storage which consist of our new battery and two way converter system, set in our factories as a model plant. Actual proof tests are going now. We will apply this system for independent power plant, wind or solar power generation system.
