Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper proposes a novel soft-switching AC-DC converter. The conventional single-stage PFC converter has prominent features of simple structure and high efficiency, but in practice, an RC snubber is needed to absorb surge energy generated by parasitic inductances, and decreases the converter efficiency. The proposed AC-DC converter is composed of a basic PFC converter and an active clamp circuit. Therefore, it achieves both the voltage clamping during turnoff time of the main switch and the ZVS during its turnon time, and furthermore recovers the absorbed serge energy to the output side. The basic analysis and experimental results are shown.
