Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The ciliary motion plays an important role in human respiratory system. If we can observe the ciliary motion in real time, it can be applied to monitor the influences by medicines, operation, and so on. In this paper, we analyze the ciliary motion using the optical flow computation. In contrast to current smoothing function which smoothes the optical flow field uniformly, we propose a new smoothing function using the wavelet-transform and an associated new iterative method based on thresholding. We demonstrate its usefulness with application to bronchial cilia images.
