Abstract(in English) | We have been developing an automatic mass detection algorithm on mammograms. There were the cases of mis detections, in most of which mammographic masses existed in mammary-gland region and their border had partial losses of shapes. The purpose of this study is to detect suchmasses based on sector-shape-mass models. Applying the new method to 2454 digitized mammograms, the detection sensitivity for the partial loss masses improved from 80% to 98% at the number of false-positives changing from 1.0 to 2.4 per image. |
