Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We have studied the noise reduction of cone-beam CT images that are degraded by statistical fluctuations in x-ray photon distribution. To reduce the noise, we have used wavelet transform modulus maxima(WTMM) method proposed by Mallat et al. We processed the wavelet transform modulus of filtered-projection data, depending on ratio of two detail components and reconstructed the CT image with these processed projection data. The performance of noise reduction with this method is compared that with wavelet shrinkage(wavelet threshold)method. Our preliminary results show that WTMM method is successful to reduce the noise of cone-beam CT images.
