Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper, we propose a method for automated construction of a procedure for detecting abnormal lesions from medical images, which meets a requirements on sensitivity and average number of false positive regions on a image. The method estimates expected performance of each local processing algorithm based on a probabilistic model and decides the processings concretely. We introduced this method into the image processing expert system named 3D-IMPRESS which has been developed by authors group, and practically applied it to construction of a procedure for detecting lung cancer shadows from chest CT images. In this experiments, it was shown that the constructed procedure can meet the requirements given by a user.
