Abstract(in English) | This paper describes novel systems and algorithms for image sensing and feature extraction. We describe three topics: 1) the consistent gradient operators in which the contradiction between x- and y-differentials are minimized by optimizing the inherent smoothing filter, 2) image categorization and feature extraction, operators based on "uni-axial variation" hypothesis of image features, and 3) the correlation image sensor which outputs the sum of products between photo currents and a reference signa, and can mimic the involuntary eye movements to extract the fundamental image features. |
