A New Multistage-Decomposition of Wavelet Transform for Lossless/Lossy Signal Compression

Abstract(in English) In this report, we propose a new signal processing to perform multistage-decomposition of Lossless/Lossy wavelet for Lossless/Lossy signal compression. Filter characteristic of our proposed multistage-decomposition with Lossless/Lossy wavelet is the same as that of the conventional octave-decomposition Lossless/Lossy wavelet but coding performance of our proposed Lossless/Lossy wavelet is better because of reduction of errors generated from rounding operations. This is because our proposed Lossless/Lossy is required less number of rounding operations.
