Abstract(in English) | As the traditional traffic theories and models are requested to be reconstructed in connection with the progress in ITS, this paper presents a new concept and proposes the importance of experimental approach for further development of traffic engineering. In addition, ITS technology should be used for construction of a transportation system to realize an idea of future city planning. On account of this, it is expected that ITS would establish a reliable transportation network ensuring that travelers could select the optimal means of transportation, depending upon their trip purposes and the traffic situation when traveling. |
