Abstract(in English)	Intelligent Transport Systems(ITS) Technical Group of the IEICE, i.e. IEICE ITS-TG was founded in 1999 ITS. This paper overviews activities of IEICE ITS-TG during 1999-2001 and proposes future themes of research and development(R&D) in a field of ITS. R&D in ITS have been progressed separately by different societies and organization such as government, industry and academia, from different approaches such as intelligent safety vehicles, traffic control, sophisticated communication networks. In the IEICE ITS-TG, however, overall subjects in ITS have been investigated and studied with fruitful collaboration and cooperation among these societies and organization. This paper reviews the activities and introduces future scope for ITS R&D.
