Abstract(in English) Abrupt increase in a current traffic demand requircs high-speed all-optical switches capable of providing tremendous transmission capacity and ultrafast optical signal processing. Nonlinear DFB waveguide can be made polarization independent by optimizing the waveguide structure. In this paper, we demonstrate experimentally polarization independent all-optical switching in a nonlinear DFB waveguide with a vertically etched Bragg reflector.
