Abstract(in English) | Operational characteristics of a newly-developed Ce : Er co-doped ZBLAN fiber laser at 1.55 μm band is investigated experimentally and theoretically. It is demonstrated that Ce doping into the Er : ZBLAN system is very efficient in improving the operational characteristics of Er : ZBLAN fiber laser pumped at 980 nm. The performance of the Ce : Er : ZBLAN fiber laser was analyzed by the rate equation in which the resonant cascade energy transfer between the Er and Ce ions was taken into account. |
