Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The nonlinear optical loop mirror(NOLM)is known as an effective ultrafast optical switch. However, since The device length of NOLM composed of conventional fiber is long, switch operation is restricted by walk-off between signal and control pulse and by control pulse width. By using a 100m length highly-nonlinear dispersion-shifted fiber(HNL-DSF), the NOLM can be compact, resulting in walk-off free demultiplexing operation of ultrafast optical time division multiplexing(OTDM)signal.
