Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We have already proposed a technique for distributed strain measurement with a possibility of very high sensitivity that uses the jagged Rayleigh backscatter trace from single-mode fibers. In order to realize this technique, the reproducibility of the backscatter trace from fibers set in the stable environment is essential. This paper describes about the reproducibility of the backscatter trace acquired by using a coherent-OTDR with a frequency-stabilized light source. Repeated measurements in an hour showed hopeful reproducibility.
