Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) An optical powering system has been developed, which can deliver approximately 2W of electricity to equipment at 200m by optical energy transmission through optical fibers. The system was applied to lightning surge detection system, and the field test began. In this system, the optical powering system feeds power to the lightning surge detector, which was installed onto the iron tower, and is continuing a feeding power of over 7, 000 hours. Moreover, as a new application field, the optical powering system was also applied to EMC(electro-magnetic compatibility)characteristic evaluation system and the effectiveness was confirmed.
