Analysis of all-optical demultiplexing characteristics using four-wave mixing among picosecond pulses in semiconductor optical amplifiers

Abstract(in English) We have numerically analyzed all-optical demultiplexing characteristics based on four-wave mixing(FWM)in semiconductor optical amplifiers(SOAs)by the finite-difference beam propagation method.We have obtained an optimum input pump pulsewidth of 1~3ps for 1ps, 250Gbit/s input probe pulses. We have also analyzed all-optical demultiplexing characteristics for multichannel probc signals.When 4-channel, 2ps, 125Gbit/s probe pulses and 2ps pump pulses with different frequencies are inputted to an SOA, the 31.25Gbit/s signals having four different frequencies are generated as DEMUX signals.
