Abstract(in English) All-optical switches, which do not need OE/EO conversion, will be a key component for the implementation of future high-speed and high-capacity signal processing.The structural birefringence of the DFB waveguide can be eliminated by optimizing waveguide parameters in a deep-ridge structure.In this paper, we discuss polarization independent condition in the deep-ridge DFB waveguide theoretically and experimentally.In addition, we investigate another device structure which enable to reduce switching power and device size together with polarization independence.
