Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) we found that, for 1.55-μm zero-dispersion-shifted fiber (DSF) which has a severe joining condition, the permissible range of precision of MT-style ferrule is less than 1/3 as compared with the conventional MT-style ferrule. High-precision MT-style connectors with DSF show low insection losses and satisfied mechanical and environmental stability requirements. As the application of high-precision MT-style ferrules, we fabricated MPO connectors with DSF and they also show low insertion losses and high return losses.
