Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) An experiment of a cryogenic temperature sensor consisting of a 1.55-μm fiber Bragg grating bonded on Teflon substrate is reported. The Bragg wavelength shift was measured in the range from the liquid nitrogen temperature to room temperature. Using two Teflon substrates to sandwich the fiber grating, a temperature sensitivity of 39 pm/K was obtained a 77K. This value was 1.5 times as large as that of the fiber grating bonded on poly (methyl methacrylate) substrate. For one-side Teflon-substrate sensor, the sensitivity was smaller by 5% compared with a both-sides substrate sensor. These results are compared with theoretical results.
