Abstract(in English) | Fiber-grating external cavity laser(FGL) has attracted much attention as a light source of DWDM system due to its high wavelength stability and low chirping characteristic. A DWDM transmission experiment and a reliability evaluation by heat cycle test were performed with our developed FGL. In the high dense DWDM transmissions with 12.5 and 25GHz channel spacings at 2.5 Gbps direct modulation, crosstalk from adjacent channel coused no serious degradation in the BER performance, and a successful transmissions were achieved up to 300 km. In the heat cycle test, the characteristic changes were little between before and after the test, which revealed that our FGL had enough tolerance for practical use to the severe external temperature change. |
