Abstract(in English) The number of channels in WDM systems is increasing to deal with rapid increase in transmission capacity. It is indispensable to realize high output power EDFA in the WDM systems. However, total output power enhancement in EDFA causes adverse nonlinear effects such as four-wave mixing(FWM), cross-phase modulation(XPM), etc. In EDF, low non-linearity was incompatible with amplification performances. In this work, we realized Yb co-doped EDF that had high Er concentration without quenching. As a result, we achieved low non-linearity, high power Erbium Ytterbium co-doped fiber amplifier pumped at 1480nm.
