Wavelength tunable 10 Gbit/s RZ light source by optical time-gating of supercontinuum

Abstract(in English) We propose a novel wavelength tunable RZ pulse generation by using optical time-gating of supercontinuum(SC). The SC generated by nonlinear propagation in normal dispersion fiber is the rectangular pulse having the almost linear up-chirping. By controlling the optical time-gating position, the center wavelength of time-gated SC can be tuned. A 10 Gbit/s wavelength tunable RZ light source using the proposed method is experimentally demonstrated.
