Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In fiber-optic four-wave mixing based wavelength conversion, it is shown that in principle modulational instability compensates for the flatness degradation of the conversion efficiency due to zero-dispersion wavelength variance along the fiber, birefringence and fourth-order group velocity dispersion. It is verified experimentally that a 76nm of 1dBwidth broadband highly-flattened wavelength conversion with conversion efficiency up to 3dB is realized.
