Abstract(in English) | We describe a variable dispersion equalizer using a pair of nonlinearly chirped fiber Bragg gratings mounted on multi-layer piezoelectric transducers. This equalizer has a tunable dispersion range of ±15 ps/nm and enables us to equalize second- and third-order dispersion of dispersion-shifted fibers with different zero dispersion wavelengths over 6 nm. These results indicate that this equalizer is applicable to adaptive equalization as well as preset equalization. |
