Abstract(in English) | We have developed fiber gratings written through polymer coating. They have the same polymer coating diameter as a standard fiber and we can use UV light which wavelength is high absorption efficiency around 245nm. Therefore they have high mechanical reliability. And we have fabricated long-period gratings insensitive to external refractive index surrounding the cladding surface using a double cladding fiber. Thus it is able to apply the method of writing through polymer coating and we confirmed its practicality. |
