Oscillation Control of a Figure of Eight Laser by using External Optical Control

Abstract(in English) Oscillation control of a passively mode-locked figure of eight fiber laser is demonstrated by using optical pulses. If the external control pulsewidth is set to 1.0 ns or 2.0 ns and the input pulse spacing is set to 22 ns, then the oscillation occurs at the same pulse spacing of 22 ns. By using 22 ns input pulse spacing, multiple-pulse oscillations up to 9 bits were stably achieved.
