Anti-Phase Pulse Generation by Using Semiconductor Mode-Locked Lasers

Abstract(in English) Phase-inversion between neighboring pulses is effective in reducing the signal distortion due to chromatic dispersion and nonlinear effects. A generation method of the anti-phase pulses is demonstrated by using semiconductor mode-locked lasers integrated with chirped gratings. Design for 40-GHz devices and pulse characteristics are described.
