Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) For the optical signals multiplexing technique in the up-link of the passive optical network systems, we have proposed the "uni-polar amplitude modulation" method using a pulse amplitude modulation technique as one of the optical CDM. Using the proposed method, neither the timing control nor the wavelength control are required, but optical beat interference limits the number of multiplexed optical signals. In this paper, signal-to-noise ratio for the digital signals and the acceptable number of optical signals are theoretically investigated, taking account of optical beat interference induced by DFB-LD's with the same wavelength. For the digital signals with rate of 100Mb/s, the acceptable number of the optical signals is 8 when the coefficient of a laser chirp is assumed 280 MHz/mA.
