Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We have investigated reflection response from fiber Bragg gratings(FBG) by optical low-coherence reflectometry (OLCR) to analyze the structure of FBGs. In this method low coherence light can be used as an incident light even though it is necessary to analyze micron-order refractive index change in FBGs. In addition, this method is attractive because of its simplicity. Moreover the result of OLCR measurement includes information with regard to group velocity dispersion, because it represents the pulse response reflected form a FBG. Theoretical results for OLCR response of FBGs were confirmed to agree with experimental ones qualitatively.
