Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Polarization and temperature properties of Bragg grating in multimode graded-index fiber are investigated experimentally. The profile of the refractive index change in the grating was discussed on the basis of the polarization measurement. The measured temperature dependence is 13.5pm/℃.Bending sensitivity of gratings in multimode fiber and in dispersion-shifted fiber was also measured. Gratings in dispersion-shifted fibers with 3 propagating modes are useful for applications to bending sensors because of a higher sensitivity and a simple spectrum.
