Evaluation of anechoic chamber characteristics using imitated equipment with internal O/E converter

Abstract(in English) For evaluating the characteristics of anechoic chamber for radiated emission measurements, an optically driven imitated equipment with internal O/E converter was made. It was revealed that the use of optical fiber as feeding cable makes the imitated equipment radiation independent from the position of the feeding cable. Moreover, by changing the shape of the radiating element of imitated equipment, it is shown that the radiation pattern can be varied. Thus, proving that the made equipment could really imitated a real one. Correlation values for the anechoic chamber, obtained from measured values of normalized site attenuation, when standard antenna is used, and emission measurements from the imitated equipment, are compared. As the result, a difference of about 2dB for horizontal polarization, and about 4dB for vertical polarization was verified, thus indicating the necessity of using optically driven imitated equipment for evaluating the anechoic chamber.
