Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The Michelson interference microscope is widely used for the measurement of optical fiber cleave angle. Rotating an optical fiber axis, rotating angle dependence of measured cleave angle is studied theoretically and experimentally. It is clarified that cleave angles change like a sinusoidal waveform for the rotation if the V-groove fiber holder of the microscope has a slight gradient. It is found that averaging measured cleave angles gives more correct cleave angle.
