Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Demands for higher bit rate transmission between computers are increasing. One solution to them is an optical parallel transmission using a fiber ribbon. However, in such a fiber ribbon, it is required to reduce the transmission delay time variation that skew is low and its change caused by external stress is little. In order to meet these requirements, we have proposed the new fiber ribbon which every fibers are fixed in line at intervals by using the special coating method. And we have produced the new fiber ribbon and have investigated its characteristics. As the result, it has been clarified that as the fixed portion length is shorter and its interval is longer, the skew becomes lower and its change caused by the twisting stress becomes less.
