Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A long-period fiber grating is a loss filter utilizing mode coupling between core guiding mode and leaky cladding mode, and is expected as gain flattening filters for EDFAs, sensor applications, and so on. In this report, the effcts of tension on the transmission characteristics of long-period fiber grating are theoretically investigated, considering both the increase of grating period and the decrease of refractive index. In addition, tension dependence for two kinds of fiber are calculated, which is confirmed to be in good agreement with experimental results.
