Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | Polarization control between signal and reference lights is very important for effective optical heterodyne detection as well as for characterization of polarization dependent optical devise. Conventionally, a half wave plate has been used to obtain the desired polarization direction. However, the polarization direction of the output light from a half wave plate depends on input polarization direction, hence it isn't useful for such a situation that the input polarization direction fluctuates. We propose a new device which overcomes this ploblem theoreticaly, and demonstrate the operation property for input lights with various kinds of polarization states. |
