| 抄録(和) | 石英系ガラス平面光回路の技術、応用、および商業化について述べる。石英系光回路は、低損失、精密な構造制御、任意のパタン、安定動作、および量産性などの特徴を有している。この技術を基に、光分岐、WDM、光スイッチおよび各種カスタム光回路など多様な光部品が製作、実用化された。 |
| 抄録(英) | A wide variety of passive optical components has been constructed based on silica-based glass planar waveguide technology, which consists of the flame hydrolysis glass deposition, photolithographic pattering and module-assembling processes. This technology has many features such as low-loss, high precision waveguide structure, arbitrary circuit geometry, stable operation, mass-producibility and potential economy. Several component families, including branching, switching. Wavelength Division Multi/Demultiplexer (WDM) and custom circuit configurations, have been tested and put into practical use in some areas so far. The state of the arts of silica waveguide technology and its application, and commercialization efforts will be presented. |
