Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper describes status and trend of aircraft collision avoidance systems. Current systems assume relatively low aircraft density operational environment. As a next-generation system that is effective even in a situation where many news gathering helicopters fly over a scene, the authors developed a helicopter collision avoidance support system that acquires mutual position of aircraft and informs the position to the pilot. This paper describes the outline of the system and flight test result. Two prototype systems were installed on two helicopters. The third system was installed on a vehicle that was used as a substitute to a helicopter. Flight test was performed using these three systems.
