Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | Distance Warning Systems (DWS) become practical in the market for motor vehicles and Emergency Braking Systems (EBS) are now under consideration. Since the statistics are not sufficient to discuss the hazard-controllability (or functional safety) of DWS and EBS, the present paper estimates deductively how the collision risk is reduced using these systems. Safety integrity levels of DWS and EBS are also specified in accordance with IEC 61508 (JIS C 0508) "Functional safety of electrical/electronic/programmable electronic safety-related systems." |
