Abstract(in English) | Recent advance in nonlinear finite element analysis program enables us to realize ductility-based design of important civil engineering structures that are mostly constructed in embedded form. However, the effects of nonlinear soil-structure interaction and the vaildity of numerical analyses on plastic deformation of buried reinforced concrete duct-type structures seem not to have been fully discussed so far. In this respect, the authors demonstrated a research program that included large-scale shake table tests, static loading tests and numerical analysis correlation with these test results. |
