Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper deals with the longitudinal collision risk model for assessing the safety level of an oceanic route in the North Pacific(NOPAC)in view of the feasibility of a 50 NM longitudinal distance-based separation. Parametric models based on the empirical data are assumed for several distributions used in the collision risk model to enable us calculating the collision risk. An analytical representation of a function for calculating the collision risk is derived using the proposed parametric distribution models. This paper first describes the method and results of derivation of the function, then some examples of the longitudinal collision risk calculation for a NOPAC route.
