Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A good many power propulsive systems are constituted by two or one set of 2 cycle diesel engine. If the basic functional purpose of a main engine system is taken into the consideration, it is estimated that the system has a redundancy. This present report is concerned with the influence and the effect of redundancy to the safety navigation by using JSRIC information on the ship reliability. And, JSRIC pays a very important role in the reliability analysis for the ship equipment. Examining the redundancy on the main engine system, the influence of failure to the system and the influence time to the operating time were become clear.
