Abstract(in English) This paper investigates operator's trust in, reliance on, and reaction times to automated warnings with two failure modes. We have constructed a simple driving simulator with an automated warning system that is supposed to give an alert when a rearend collision may be predicted with a car running ahead. The obtained results are argued from s viewpoint of vigilance or situation awareness.
