Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) As a small nuclear reactor has little energy, it is possible that safety systems can be simplified and highly reliable. Especially with a passive safety system, which can be started and maintained without any external signal or power source, the reactor becomes highly reliable. In this paper, explanations about MRS, small FBR, PIUS, AP600 and MRX reactors are given. Core damage frequency(CDF) of MRX reactor was evaluated by an event tree method, and the result show the MRX has 2 or 3 order small CDF compared with ordinary nuclear power generating plants.
