Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this report, various applications by using ultrasonic transmission through rail are described. The track circuit have been used in order to confirm the absence of the train on the rails. This method also has the ability of detecting a fracture in rail. RF train detection systems without track circuit have been studied. In this new system, another means is required in order to confirm the absence of rail fracture. The present speed measurement system uses tachometer generator on the train. In this system, it is very difficult to measure velocity when the train runs very slowly. Here, detection of rail fracture position and exact measurement of velocity in small value range are studied.
