Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper proposes an optical packet router architecture using electronic edge routers as shared buffers. In this architecture, packet route within router node is altered when packets are bufferd because of output line busy. Hence buffer control algorithms for maintaining packet sequence integrity are evaluated through simulations. Optical routers with shared buffers of 10% total bandwidth provides sufficient packet routing quality.
